TeamViewer Pilot Integrates Latest Google Depth Tech
Hi there,

TeamViewer Pilot is proud to be one of the first apps to incorporate Google's ARCore Depth API. With the ARCore Depth API, more realistic AR experiences are created for TeamViewer Pilot users in even more commercial and consumer settings.

TeamViewer Pilot is a remote assistance solution powered by augmented reality that enables subject matter experts (SME) to see what users see through their smartphone camera, while allowing the expert to guide the user by adding 3D annotations that stick virtually to the physical objects.
What's new in TeamViewer Pilot with Google ARCore Depth API?

Google's ARCore Depth API — now available on more than 250 million Android devices — provides an understanding of the user's real-world environment. 3D annotations can now be placed much more precisely. The SME can reposition arrows along the physical objects with direct visual feedback. 3D elements behind physical objects can now be presented as obstructed, providing a more realistic understanding of the scene.
What it Means to You

"Integrating ARCore Depth API into TeamViewer Pilot enables us to offer our users a better understanding of the real world with even more accurate 3D annotations." says Andreas Haizmann, director of product management at TeamViewer.  "When our customers use TeamViewer Pilot in industrial, commercial and even home settings, it is very important that the 3D annotations precisely stick to the physical object to minimize mistakes and avoid human error."

Customers around the world use Pilot for remotely assisting their peers in various use-cases ranging from servicing of machines and tools remotely — sometimes in harsh, remote environments — to providing after-sales training to end-users. This advancement further demonstrates TeamViewer's commitment to developing Pilot as an indispensable support tool with infinite use cases, limited only by the user's imagination.
